Troy Bishop

Hi, I’m Troy Bishop, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (#MH21865), Certified Hypnotherapist, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I specialize in individual, couples, and family therapy, and I run a private practice in Trinity, Florida.

As a veteran of the US Armed Forces and a retired first responder, I am intimately aware of how trauma can impact our lives and become our story. However, through rewiring the brain this does not have to be the rest of our story.

Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW-QS

Do you feel like you can not find the momentum to move forward in life? Although you may set goals or look up resources to help, you cannot move forward and continue to remain in a vicious cycle. Do you have grief issues and other life losses which have gone unaddressed because you thought you would just “work through it?” Loss affects one on so many levels, not just emotions. Grief is demanding both cognitively and physically. Maybe you are hoping that “time will heal your wounds.” Time will not do anything but what you do with time is what matters.

I believe everyone is capable of finding real solutions to their issues and can develop coping skills that can last a lifetime.  What is often missing though is a clear way through.  I have many years of experience supporting individuals through life’s transitions and loss. I offer an individualized treatment format that addresses problems from a multidimensional format that is tailored to you. I have had the privilege of 33 years of experience as a clinical social worker.  I also serve as a Qualified Supervisor for those seeking LCSW licensure and greatly appreciate providing clinical supervision for the healers of tomorrow.

Seeking out help is a strength and healing well is living well. I consider it a privilege to provide my clinical services to help you attain your goals. Please contact me for a free consultation.

Sometimes it’s tough to take the first small step towards change and growth. Maybe you are not sure how or where to look for ways that will make your life feel more meaningful and purposeful. I am here to help support you through this difficult time. Reaching out and asking for help is one of the hardest things you can do, and it is the start of achieving your wellness goals.

My goal is to help you improve yourself and create positive change in all aspects of life. I use a non-judgmental, empathetic, compassionate, and strength-based therapeutic approach. I have a passion for working with every individual struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and other mental health issues.

Within every session, you will feel supported, safe, empowered, and accepted. I collaboratively involve the individual or family throughout the entire therapeutic process. I believe that building a strong, trusting relationship with each client helps instill motivation for change, allowing you to grow into the best version of yourself.

Gabby is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who graduated with a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of South Florida. She has worked with all age groups and enjoys working with teens and young adults who are ready to discover who they are. She has worked at Directions for Living as a family therapist, focusing on overall family safety, stability, and mental health. She has also worked with individuals struggling with eating disorders and provided support and services to clients who were ready to live a healthier life.

Marriage & Family Therapist Intern, RMFT-I

You don’t have to carry the weight of the past alone. I help individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, and painful life experiences so they can reclaim a sense of hope, connection, and meaning. My approach is warm, relational, and grounded in the belief that healing happens within safe and supportive relationships.

I’m trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps shift the way you relate to distressing memories and deeply held beliefs about yourself. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for change, I’m here to walk alongside you in the process of healing and growth.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like something from your past still lingers in the present, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. Many people reach a point where the old coping methods no longer work, and something inside them says, “I can’t keep doing this.”

Tristine Barry

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Do you feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you? Perhaps anxiety keeps you constantly worrying, ADHD makes it difficult to stay organized and focused, or past experiences continue to affect your relationships, confidence, and daily life. You may be navigating a major life transition, coping with grief, struggling with perfectionism, or feeling burned out from taking care of everyone else while neglecting your own needs. If so, you’re not alone, and help is available.

I believe therapy should be both supportive and practical. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, develop effective coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. Together, we’ll identify the obstacles keeping you stuck and build on the strengths you already possess to move forward with greater confidence and clarity.

I specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety, ADHD, trauma, emotional overwhelm, caregiver stress, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, grief and loss, and relationship concerns. I have a particular passion for helping individuals with Adult ADHD, executive functioning difficulties, trauma recovery, perfectionism, and anxiety-related disorders.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based interventions, strengths-based therapy, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and neuroscience-informed approaches. I also incorporate Polyvagal-informed techniques to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and nervous system responses.

I earned my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University and have experience working in community mental health, telehealth, corrections, substance use treatment, and private practice settings. These experiences have strengthened my ability to support clients from diverse backgrounds facing a wide range of challenges.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel intimidating, but you don’t have to do it alone. Together, we can work toward reducing anxiety, healing from past experiences, managing ADHD more effectively, and helping you reconnect with the life you want to live. Meaningful change is possible, and I would be honored to support you on that journey.

A Unique Perspective

At Alternative Solutions Counseling, we specialize in supporting veterans and first responders as they transition from military or active service to civilian life. We understand the unique challenges this journey can bring and the impact it can have on you and your family. Our mission is to provide the guidance and tools you need to navigate these changes and build a brighter, more balanced future together.

Aligning Values with Actions

We all have core values we want to be known for, but sometimes, our actions don’t align with those values. Life can become unmanageable and challenging as a result. I understand that it can feel like everything remains the same, even when circumstances change.

Your Companion on the Journey

In American culture, there’s often a belief in pulling ourselves up by the bootstraps and pushing through tough times. However, there are moments when this isn’t possible, and that’s where I come in.

As a Clinical Mental Health Professional and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I offer a safe, compassionate, and accepting environment. I’m here to help you navigate through daunting and dark times. Let me be the torchbearer on your journey to wholeness.
